Continuing towards the northeast for 21 km, you will come to Araban Castle, which has medieval features. This castle in the town of Araban is built on a high, flat-summitted, prehistoric tumulus.
Known as Raban in the Middle Ages, Araban was an important center attached to the Crusader Baronetcy of Urfa during the 11th and 12th centuries. The layout and details of the castle during this period have not been determined.
Also notable is a large, stone structure on top of the mound, which has been used as a mosque.
